This 30' steel K-brace non-battered tower enclosed in wood frame and siding with a 16'x16' octagonal cab is one of only two pre-1950 809R designs remaining of its height. Four were originally built. The lookout is named for a State Forest Ranger killed in Italy during World War II. A bronze dedication plaque is located near the northeast corner of the lookout which reads: "Sidney Chase Ormsbee Forester and Soldier 1916 - 1943. Around that bay and among these hills his home his play and his work." NO PUBLIC ACCESS…..This lookout is on, or access is across, private
